About Us

Welcome.
Windy Acres started in June of 2017. Randall was asked by a co-worker to help find homes for his Pomeranians and thats where our journey began. We started out by using puppyfind. Our list of Breeders grew and with that we had the need for our own website. So in April of 2019 our website was launched. We were the face of Windy acres. All calls, appointments, photos, transportations etc. were done by us. Now as of Oct 1, 2024 we are changing things to where you as a customer will now be contacting the breeder directly. Randall and my (Laura) focus will be to keep the website up to date.

Featuring

Mini Australian Shepherd

Intelligent, Affectionate, Energetic, Easy to please

The Mini Australian Shepherd, often referred to as the Mini Aussie, is a smaller version of the standard Australian Shepherd, renowned for its intelligence, agility, and herding capabilities. These dogs typically weigh between 20 to 40 pounds and stand about 13 to 18 inches tall, making them a compact yet robust breed suitable for various living situations, including apartments, as long as they get ample exercise.

One of the main reasons you might want a Mini Aussie is their vibrant and engaging personality. They are highly intelligent and eager to please, which makes them relatively easy to train and a joy to have as a companion. Their energy and enthusiasm make them excellent partners for active individuals or families who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, running, or agility sports. Additionally, their natural herding instincts and protective nature make them attentive watchdogs, though they are typically friendly with family and other pets. Mini Aussies are also known for their loyalty and form strong bonds with their owners, providing both companionship and affection. However, it’s essential to note that they require regular mental and physical stimulation to keep them happy and well-behaved, so they are best suited for owners who can commit time and energy to their care and training.
