Hello! We are Reuben and Carolyn Herschberger. We have two daughters and five sons, two of whom are married. Both of our married sons are still involved with raising the puppies and it is a joy to have them around even though they have their own homes and families now. Raising puppies for us started in 2012 when one of the boys purchased a trio of Shetland Sheepdogs. It has been a process of love to raise this group and we look forward to having several litters soon.
In 2014 we added a Yellow Labrador Retriever to our growing family. At this time the other boys also wanted to start helping to rais the puppies and become more involved in the family business. With all my sons involved and each having their share and personal interest we have now have a total of 10 adult dogs in seven different breeds that roam our property. The breeds we currently raise are Yellow Labs, Golden Retrievers, Shetland Sheepdogs, Shih-Tzu, Shih-Poo (Shih-Tzu/Poodle cross), Shiba Inu, and Poodle. There is really something for everyone no matter what your interest. Each of our son's personalities and interest can really be seen in the variety of breeds we have. Each son has their dog or dogs they are responsible for to make sure nothing is missed and each dog gets the attention and cares they deserve. Our grandchildren also love to play and socialize with the puppies.
Lastly, Carolyn and I have our personal pet toy poodle, Kayla. She is apricot colored (now mostly white) and has lived with us in the house since 2005.
We are a USDA and Illinois State licensed kennel. Our puppies all are vaccinated and vet checked before they leave us to go to their new forever homes. Thank you for taking the time to view our page and we wish many blessings upon you and yours.
The Herschberger Family
When you’re a “my pet is the best pet ever” pet parent, no food could ever be too natural, nutritious or delicious. Believe us, we get it. That’s how we got our start.
PLEASE DO NOT OVER FEED YOUR DOG! Follow manufacture directions. Over feeding dogs is the greatest cause of cancer and joint problems in dogs. Keep them physically fit with top quality food in the correct quantity and plenty of exercise. Other than an occasional treat of scrambled eggs, some cheeses including cottage cheese we highly discourage human food given to dogs. Dog feed with corn, soy, or wheat products is also discouraged and not recommended. Cooked beef bones from your local butcher can be a healthy treat also. No chicken or turkey bones recommended!
